Waiting for Someone

Herve Leger top & skirt, Chanel bag, Balenciaga shoes

Telling you this outfit is two pieces makes a difference, I know it does. The a-line skirt is an ingenious departure from Herve Leger's timeless, body-hugging bandage skirts and dresses. Plus, I can't get over the salient structure of the shoulders on this top. Putting on anything Herve Leger makes me nostalgic ever since I attended that Herve Leger event at Max Azria's place. I accessorized with this red or pink chevron bag and hybrid shoes by Balenciaga that seem to be a cross between ChloĆ© ankle boots and strap-y gladiator sandals.

Orange Crush

Giorgio Armani jacket, Robert Rodriguez top, Ksubi jeans, Isabel Marant heels, Miu Miu bag, Ray-ban sunglasses

I'm alright with pairing together two different but somehow complementary shades of orange. Who knew this mussed-up peach top is a more apposite option with these intensely orange jeans than unbeatably versatile blacks or whites? I love that it is insanely lightweight and has a half wrinkled half ruffled silhouette on top of all the sheerness. My mom insisted on ironing it out but that would totally deprive it from its textural character! The level of gloom and haze in the background only contributes to blending the two oranges. Then there are the zebra shoes that are always fun to wear. A recent purchase, this bag is like a plush toy. It's smooth surface and rotundness makes carrying it rather calming if you will.

Trailing Away

XCVI shirt, St. John leather vest, Hermes belt, Isabel Marant Dicker boots, Chanel bag

This is not your everyday white button-down. You can't even tell if its supposed to be a shirtdress or just a shirt, which is why I've been experimenting with it. I could't resist playing with its cascading tail of an unexpected longer length at the back. A metallic leather vest and a thick belt readily dismiss it's inclination to be almost business-y.

Ksubi Alberceque shorts, H&M blazer, Zara top, Chanel sneakers, Ray-ban sunglasses

Woke up at 7:30am this morning groggily pleased to see the sun come out after a transitory downpour last night. It's great weather for introducing the new Ray-ban sunglasses I bought while happily wandering around Fashion Island. Peruse the YELLOW, well-destroyed cutoffs featured in this color-blocked ensemble.  Yes, there is a song called "Yellow" by Coldplay that has always been on my ipod and that's how much I like "Yellow": I drew a line, I drew a line for you. Oh what a thing to do. And it was all yellow. Actually, this chambray blazer makes "Blue and Yellow" by The Used worth mentioning as well. I semi-digress but for the sake of literally colorful music, why not? There are the usual red lips you see on me, which coordinate with these Chanel sneakers, but I cannot think of a song title pertaining to the color red. So the synopsis of this post is that we have established 3 summer staples: Ray-bans, yellow, and music to go with it.

Green Light

St. John tweed jacket, Free People lace top, Seven For All Mankind shorts, ChloƩ boots, Chanel bag & sunglasses

This airy mixed lace top is one of those multi-season pieces that can be layered under or over pretty much anything. I kept layering to a minimum here for some light-soaking transparency and instead threw on a grassy green tweed jacket with an amplified collar that compliments the minuscule lace detailing of what's underneath.

Flying at the Speed of Light

H&M blazer, Alexander Wang shirt, J Brand jeans, Chanel sneakers, Hermes belt, Chanel bag, Louis Vuitton sunglasses

These sports-inspired Chanel sneakers with their Mondrian colors and clean lines are brought to balance with a more seemly chambray blazer. You may remember this same shirt here worn with a collier de chien belt. Spacesuit white on white makes these primary-colored sneakers seem as if they would lift off into the air. Beat that Nike.
