Pink Circles

Les Copains jacket, Alexander Wang shirt & shorts, Yves Saint Laurent heels, Chanel bag & ring, Prada sunglasses

Over the years, I have gradually become more certain that it's a challenging task to craft up an outfit with this blazer's overly conspicuous pink polka dots (I prefer to call them circles just because). In spite of that, I played on the girly pink-white coloration with an ever transparent leather-bordered shirt and leather shorts that seem to have assimilated into the greater consciousness and basics category of my wardrobe. The whole thing turned out better than I presumed because of the compatible contrast of the jacket and doubled leather.

White On White

Theyskens' Theory blazer and jeans, Giorgio Armani silk camisole, Roger Vivier bag, Sergio Rossi wedges, Hermès kelly double tour bracelet

Wearing white uniformly from top to bottom is such a pure and simple concept with high impact, which is what I am essentially into these days. Considering that I have several black jackets but none in white, this blazer is something that is truly handy considering that white is a prime portion of summer's palette. With matching cropped jeans, it makes a perfect set, kinda like a suit.

Zigged

Missoni top, Alexander Wang leather shorts, Chanel clutch, Sergio Rossi wedges Prada sunglasses

When you think Missoni you think zigzags. This is probably one of the more intricate tops I own with its pleasantly dizzying pattern and subtle streaks of matte glitter. It's not discernible here but it is long enough to be pulled down and worn as a dress that looks kinda like its from the 20s. I'm really starting to form a penchant for these flat-form type shoes. Unlike some stilettos, these allow for at least partial mobility. Even with their freakishly weird shape.

Off White is On

Nanette Lepore dress & Sergio Rossi wedges

This dress has been hibernating for a couple years but its time for it to come out of the closet. It is seemingly um, a trench coat type of thing as well. I recently became re-infatuated with the outwardly curved silhouette of its shoulders, the pure off white, the extra deep invisible pockets, the cascading creases on the sides and the unsymmetrically situated giant black buttons. Practically every detail about this hybrid trench coat dress gives it such concentrated perfection. These yellow cork wedges are a new purchase; ideal for keeping a decent block of space between the ground and me.

AP Time

Theory jacket, Bcbg top, Christopher Blue shorts, Isabel Marant boots

Today, at school in sunny, windy, kinda cold weather. Taking a little time to take a walk alongside mini fields of pastel flowers (or indeed doing pretty much anything else non-testing related) is one method to avoid overly focusing on those brain-juice-depleting AP exams from the College Board. Three down, one to kill.

Black & White Inspiration

It's interesting how a set of random yet interconnected photos can be a source of sartorial and somehow emotion-striking inspiration. These particular ones remind me of a picture I encountered a few years back while perusing an issue of Architectural Digest or rather one of those Giorgio Armani campaign ads. You know, the ones shot solely in black and white with ethereally seeping light starkly contrasted with obscure shutters? An ideal setting for the sleek, sophisticated silhouettes of Armani's flawlessly fitting suits and jackets.

Cut It Out

Theory shirt, Ksubi Alberceque shorts, Roger Vivier bag, Chloé Susan ankle boots, Mont Blanc belt

A particularly effervescent yellow pair of these cut-offs has proved to be versatile enough for me to purchase these blue denim ones as well. With a straight face, Conor mentioned how tempting it was to snip off the fringe on these. I hoped to God that was some sick joke. The irregular hemline is the leading element here, which I teamed with a more seemly, puffy-shouldered white shirt.
