Light of Dawn

Forever 21 shirt and vest, Ksubi shorts, Isabel Marant boots (here), Alexander Wang bag (here), Céline sunglasses

Sitting atop, beside, everywhere around sun soaked stone surfaces while just thinking about things. Doubling on the shimmering white sun-ray-repelling separates is fitting for the occasion. These particular shades of stone remind me of those of the massive limestone fortresses I saw when I was in Dubrovnik, you know the ones with retired canons stationed strategically, aiming at the ocean toward nothing.

Navy and Gold

Abercrombie and Fitch dress (here), Sergio Rossi shoes, Louis Vuitton bag, Céline sunglasses

Bringing back A&F from junior high days. I'm not sure why people I know went from wearing this label to the ground to now keeping away from it entirely, but I don't think I can ever let go of their super soft pure cotton things and perfect everyday basics. I leveled up this navy skater style dress by pulling off the giant, obnoxious school girl bow around the waist and instead belting it with the gold chain thing I got from Istanbul. Sealed in the gold correlation with my Arty ring I wear too much lately and treasured vintage gold bangles.

Renaissance Girl

Forever 21 top, Thakoon shorts, Lanvin python pumps (here), YSL ring

Another day playing the piano, the usual Chopin's Nocturne in c# minor. I refuse to play anything else. That's probably the reason why my piano teacher yells at me sometimes, for not practicing other pieces. She would definitely disapprove of all these seating positions on the stool. Let alone banging on the keys with snakeskin heels. That intricate ceramic pot on the piano I bought in Kusadasi contributes to the intense 14th century European Renaissance theme I tried to pull off. Meanwhile, I wore metallic edged shorts with a top that evokes fishing nets, which also kind of makes me a mermaid. I anchored in all the ethereal goldenness with ombre python wooden platforms by Lanvin that include belted ankle straps and a metal heel encased within the clearness of another translucent heel.
Super complicated dream shoes.

Arose from Her Couch of Snows

Theyskens' Theory jacket and pants, Alexander Wang shirt, Balenciaga clutch, Christian Louboutin heels

Carrying over the white on white pantsuit through the fall and winter and probably way beyond that seems like a prospective idea right now. I can't say I held the clutch upside down on purpose. Not a bad idea for a change though. This wispy, meshy net of a shirt with its almost awkward  leather cuffs and collar confuses me more every time I put it on. What does Alexander Wang expect me to do with this thing? I guess just that.

FNO + Chloé + Saks

Giorgio Armani top, All Saints skirt, Hermès belt, Chanel bag and boots

It was such a pleasure to see the Chloé and Saks Fifth Avenue shows for Fashion's Night Out South Coast Plaza and stop by the stores. Thank you Kat, PR Manager of South Coast Plaza for the invite to FNO and all your support for the blog!

I've always been a lover of all things Chloé from their studded ankle boots I wear a lot these days and saddle inspired bags to perfect blends of neutrals and nudes. I was excited to see roomy sweaters mostly in the form of cable knits paired with architectural silhouettes and textured pieces like a pine green quilted leather skirt. Intricate patterns were fun to look at especially the gingham on tartan plaids on top of each other. All the lace and top-to-bottom crochet pieces were too ethereal to look away from and the ankle strap suede shoes are clearly season-less staples.

As for the Saks Fifth Avenue show, there were a few very specific things I got kind of feverish for upon first sight. There was this little red riding hood snood/scarf thing that looks ideal for freezing days. I mean, take a look at those massive, mobility-restricting Mongolian fur sleeves and that leopard hat. Then there is that silvery, drafty dress that hangs perfectly off the body, and when it seemed like there is no way it can get better, it somehow did. The backside with its deep curved cut provoked oohs and ah-s from the audience. There was such an entertaining contrast of leopard prints and furs alongside shimmering sequins and pared down Gatsby glamour.
